CASE MACLAIM is a German urban artist from Frankfurt and - on top of that - an extremely talented graffiti artist. In his works, he combines brilliant photorealism with a strong touch of surrealism. His visual vocabulary is usually based on the components of the human body, which are abstracted from their origins and given new narrative, frightening, animalistic or mythical elements.

The creation of the mural HEIMAT, at Schlieperstr 21 in the Ostersbaum district, is the result of a conversation with the Association for the Support of the Deaf. The connection between the artist and the deaf lies in the use of hands. Case Maclaim likes to paint them as a symbol of creative power, and the deaf need them as a means of communication. Case Maclaim's mural depicts the gesture "home" in three stages of movement in a kind of overexposure.
