URBAN ART SPACE WUPPERTAL (UKW)
In the first three years, from 2023 to 2025, the UKW has created its collection in the public space of the city of Wuppertal: 34 temporary international interventions have created something in the cityscape that makes Wuppertal recognizable and unique.
Here, local Heimat was transformed into international WandKunst, HeimatRaum individualized, HeimatKunde exported, international StreetArt imported, HeimatStadt pimped, HeimatOrte personalized, WohnOrte facelifted, StadtRaum finally transcended into AusstellungsRaum and one of the most democratic art forms was given a stage for the self-realization of art, city and people.
WUPPERTAL CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

22 districts were creatively taken along by the museum, along the Wuppertal valley axis, with a maximum extension of 500m to the left and right of the B7, from Vohwinkel-Mitte to Langerfeld-Mitte, step by step in the implementation process.

20 organizations can apply for a work of wall art in their neighbourhood. The prerequisite is participation in our podcast „UKW - Designing a home with art“ in order to highlight the special features of the individual hoods.

33 façades along the valley axis are being sought for the transformation of feelings of home into international wall art. Walls are already available, but we look forward to receiving additional facades from the neighborhoods.

31 international street artists will be invited to transform the special features of the neighborhoods into wall art. This process will be accompanied by various activities by the workshops and neighbors.
