URBAN ART SPACE WUPPERTAL (UKW)
URBAN ART SPACE WUPPERTAL (UKW)
In the first three years, from 2023 to 2025, the UKW will create its collection in the public space of the city of Wuppertal: 24 temporary international interventions will create something in the cityscape that makes Wuppertal recognizable and unique.
Here, local Heimat is transformed into international WandKunst, HeimatRaum is individualized, HeimatKunde is exported, international StreetArt is imported, HeimatStadt is pimped, HeimatOrte is personalized, WohnOrte is facelifted, StadtRaum is finally transcended into AusstellungsRaum and one of the most democratic art forms is given a stage for the self-realization of art, city and people.
WUPPERTAL CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

24 districts will be creatively taken along by the museum, along the Wuppertal valley axis, with a maximum extension of 500m to the left and right of the B7, from Vohwinkel to Langerfeld-Mitte, step by step in the implementation process.

24 organizations can apply for a work of wall art in their neighbourhood. The prerequisite is participation in our podcast "UKW - Designing a home with art" in order to highlight the special features of the individual hoods.

We are looking for 24 façades along the valley axis for the transformation of feelings of home into international wall art. Walls are already available, but we look forward to receiving additional facades from the neighborhoods.

24 international street artists will be invited to transform the special features of the neighborhoods into wall art. This process will be accompanied by various activities by the workshops and neighbors.
