MEDIANERAS (BARCELONA)

The Argentinian street art duo MEDIANERAS has its base in Barcelona; translated, the name means "side walls", on which the duo focuses in particular. The connection between two houses and thus also the connection between people and space. Their androgynous figures concentrate on the essentials - people themselves.

The creation of the IDENTITY mural on the Hofaue in the Elberfeld-Mitte district is the result of a conversation with the Urban Art Complex dance school. Young dancers with a migration background between marginalization and empowerment, and hip-hop as their rebellion. The mural by Medianeras shows a figure who rips the mask off his face and decides to stop hiding and conform.
