GOMAD (Sittard)

Mural HIP HOP - Bergstr. 65, Wuppertal

GOMAD from Sittard in the Netherlands has been painting for more than 30 years. His photorealistic style is often combined with abstract graphic forms and colorful surfaces, often consisting of intense eyes, hands and faces depicted in a very surreal and intriguing arrangement.

The creation of the mural HIP HOP on Bergstraße in the Elberfeld-Nordstadt district is the result of a conversation at the Haus der Jugend Elberfeld with young people, some of them refugees, who have found expression in hip-hop. Gomad came into contact with hip-hop culture at the age of 12 and began spraying, rapping and breakdancing. He plays with this in his mural: Freeze pose of b-boying, turntables (old gramophone) and rap (bird).
