ASTRO from Paris has been active since the early 2000s and has made the combination of curves, calligraphy and dynamic shapes his trademark. His style has been influenced by artists such as Hartung, Vasarely and Mucha and is based on optical illusions combined with geometric patterns and three-dimensional effects.

The creation of the 3D mural GRAPHIC GATE on Bachstrasse in the Barmen-Mitte district is the result of a discussion with children from the Kuki Cafe. The mural by Astro has transformed the façade into a new dimension and surprises not only children, but everyone else too. Many little eyes stretch across the façade like a geometric net and, on closer inspection, form into little creatures and comic figures, inviting you to discover them.
